QUETTA (July 18): Station House Officer (SHO) Sariab Fazal Rehman Khilji has said that police are continuing an extensive campaign against criminal elements in the area, assuring residents that every effort is being made to maintain law and order and urging them to carry on with their daily activities without fear.
In a statement, Khilji said the ongoing operations were being conducted under the directions of SP Sariab Abid Bukhari, DSP Talib Hussain and other senior police officials as part of a comprehensive strategy to curb crime and strengthen public security.
He stated that police teams were carrying out round-the-clock raids and intelligence-based operations against suspected criminals, adding that no individual involved in activities threatening public peace would be given any concession.
The SHO said the crackdown also included action against unregistered vehicles and motorcycles, while strict legal measures were being taken against those allegedly involved in motorcycle snatching, theft, robbery, narcotics trafficking and other criminal offences.
According to Khilji, several suspects have already been taken into custody, while efforts are continuing to arrest other individuals wanted in connection with various criminal cases.
He added that he, along with DSP Talib Hussain, was personally overseeing regular night patrols across Sariab to reinforce security, enhance police visibility and ensure a prompt response to any untoward incident.
Khilji reaffirmed that protecting the lives and property of citizens remained the foremost responsibility of the police, adding that no one would be allowed to disrupt peace or undermine public safety within the jurisdiction of Sariab Police Station.
He further claimed that the law and order situation in the area had improved considerably since he assumed charge, expressing his commitment to sustaining peace through effective policing and continued action against criminal networks.
Meanwhile, local residents, tribal elders and community representatives appreciated the performance of DSP Talib Hussain and SHO Fazal Rehman Khilji, stating that sustained police operations had contributed to a noticeable reduction in criminal activities across Sariab.
They observed that consistent action against thieves, drug traffickers and other offenders had yielded encouraging results, while the prompt response of police to recent incidents and ongoing investigations had helped strengthen public confidence in law enforcement.
