Quetta Local Elections 2025: Illegal Campaign Material Removed Ahead of Polls

Quetta: Ahead of the 2025 local elections, the District Monitoring Officer in Quetta removed prohibited campaign material from various city areas following violations of the election code of conduct. The Election Commission’s monitoring team remains active to ensure full compliance with electoral rules.
Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Siyal warned that any violations would result in immediate legal action under the Election Act 2017. He instructed all candidates to strictly adhere to the code of conduct. Under Section 182 of the Act, election campaigns will end at midnight on December 26, 2025, and no candidate is permitted to campaign thereafter.
Candidates found breaching the rules may face penalties including imprisonment of up to two years, fines up to PKR 100,000, or both. Polling for Quetta’s local elections is scheduled for December 28, 2025. The Election Commission emphasized transparency and fairness, urging all participants to maintain a peaceful environment and uphold the integrity of the electoral process in the city.
