Punjab Links Public Hospitals to Safe City Surveillance

Lahore, February 12, 2026 — On the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has formally launched the integration of public hospitals with the Safe City surveillance system across the province.
In the first phase, 10 major public hospitals in Lahore and more than 35 hospitals across Punjab have been connected to the modern surveillance network. According to the PSCA spokesperson, key facilities including Services Hospital (Sir Ganga Ram Hospital), Lady Aitchison Hospital, Lahore General Hospital, Mian Munshi Hospital, and Nawaz Sharif Hospital are now linked with the Safe City Control Room.
Hospitals in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Sargodha have also been integrated. Emergency wards, OPDs, indoor departments, and entry and exit points are being monitored in real time to ensure swift assistance and prompt police response.
The spokesperson said the initiative aims to enhance security for patients, attendants, and medical staff, and prevent untoward incidents. In upcoming phases, all public hospitals across Punjab will be connected to the Smart Safe City system to ensure a secure healthcare environment.
