Quetta, Feb 26:Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, central leader of the National Party and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, has strongly condemned the grenade assault on the residence of National Party Kech leader Arif Saleem, calling it a troubling escalation in sectarian and political violence across the province.
Addressing the media, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch cautioned that if such attacks continue unchecked, their consequences could deeply destabilize society. He highlighted a worrying pattern in which perpetrators, following targeted killings of political and social figures, have begun attacking homes to intimidate families—a tactic aimed at undermining public safety and social harmony.
He stressed that turning political disputes into violent confrontations and fomenting intra-community tensions poses a serious threat not only to democratic processes but also to social cohesion in Balochistan. “Assaults on National Party workers will not deter our political struggle,” he affirmed.
Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch urged authorities to swiftly identify those responsible, enforce strict legal measures, and implement a comprehensive plan to break the cycle of violence. He pledged that the National Party will remain vigilant to protect public interests and safeguard peace, ensuring that Balochistan is not pushed back into instability.
