Quetta, Feb 26: The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has issued directives requiring all individuals and firms offering technical, scientific, and engineering consultancy services to register with the authority and submit tax returns promptly for each applicable period to remain in full compliance with legal obligations.
Under the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services (BSTS) Act 2015, a 6% sales tax applies to consultancy services paid from federal, provincial, local government, or cantonment board budgets. The BRA emphasized that registered consultants and firms must deposit applicable taxes and file returns within stipulated deadlines, warning that non-compliance could trigger penalties and legal proceedings under the BSTS Act 2015.
The authority urged all service providers to strictly adhere to tax regulations to prevent legal issues and avoid unnecessary financial liabilities.
Separately, the Balochistan Communications and Works Department announced that the previous notification to blacklist M/S Zarak Construction Company, a government contractor, has been temporarily suspended following the resumption of its work, until further notice.
